Joleon
Lescott, mantan punggawa Etihad era Roberto Mancini kini berharap agar pemain
muda masa depan City mampu mengembangkan potensi dan menghindari kejatuhan
karir sebelum waktunya.
Lescott
“Jika mereka membutuhkan panduan kami, kami pasti
kesana.
musim lalu, menyukai karir barunya bersama City.
Tegasnya.
“Kita lihat Kevin De Bruyne dan Sergio Aguero
mencetak gold an member umpan, saat anda

Joleon Lescott is
back at Manchester
City, helping their next generation of players avoid the pitfalls he faced.
Lescott
was part of City’s first great side and won two Premier League titles, one FA
Cup and a League Cup in his five years with the club before leaving in 2014.
Now
the former England defender has returned as part of City’s backroom team who
support their various young players out on loan.
Lescott,
35, knows they won’t all make it at City and draws on his experience to help
them deal with the problems young players face.
“There’s
a team of nine of us that works with the players that go out on loan,” he said.
“We
just try to create pathways into having careers - not necessarily at Manchester
City because not everybody is going to have that opportunity, but we just try
to prepare them for a career in football.
“We
visit them monthly and watch all the games whether it be live or on other
platforms - that’s
“We
critique them and try to help them understand what they’re doing well and where
they’re going wrong. Some of them are young so it’s the first time leaving
home, never mind another country.
“If
they ever need our guidance, we’re there. We’re helping the younger generation
of players with problems I faced as a younger player and helping them
understand those scenarios.”
Lescott,
who ended his playing career with Sunderland last year, is enjoying being back
involved in football with City.
The
former Everton and Wolves centre-half claims his best piece of advice for the
young hopefuls is that playing at the top level is not as easy as City’s stars
make it look.
“It’s
about helping them understand that it’s not as easy as they first thought,” he
said. “You see Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero score goals and make passes,
and at a younger age you think you can do those things.
“It’s
not until you go out and play in different atmosphere in front of crowds that
you realise that it’s not as easy as looks.”
