Walaupun kembali ditikung rival Manchester United dengan mahar £52 juta, Gabriel Jesus menyatakan akan tetap mendukung rekan timnasnya Fred.

Gelandang Brazil Fred akan menjadi rekrutan pertama Jose Mourinho setelah lolos tes kesehatan kemarin.

Kedatangannya dari Shakhtar Donetsk mungkin menjadi awal revolusi United musim ini.

United kesal karena tertinggal 19 poin di belakang juara Liga Primer Manchester City musim kemarin.

Mourinho sendiri sudah diepringatkan klub agar tidak mengulangi kegagalan yang sama musim depan.

Jesus sendiri bagian dari pasukan penyerang ganas asuhan Pep Guardiola bersama Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero, dan Raheem Sterling.

Dan diluar dugaan Jesus ternyata tetap dewasa mendukung Fred sukses menaklukan Liga Inggris.

“Saya berbicara dengannya tengah musim lalu, saat spekulasi luas bergabungnya Fred ke Manchester City” terang Jesus.

“Tapi untuk ke United, saya tidak tahu. Keputusan tetap ditangannya, itu adalah hak pribadinya, dia yang berhak memutuskan tentang karirnya sendiri.”

“Kami akan mendukungnya kemanapun langkahnya. Jika dia memilih United, saya juga sedih untuk City, tapi saya akan tetap mendukungnya.”

Fred mencatat 15 gol dan 15 assist dalam 155 laga untuk Shakhtar Donetsk sebelum pindah ke Inggris.

Fred juga baru kembali tahun lalu dari hukuman doping setelah teruji positif menggunakan diuretic hydrochlorothiazide di Copa America 2015 lalu.

Gelandang usia 25 tersebut mungkin akan segera diikuti bek kanan Porto Diogo Dalot yang juga dikabarkan siap menjalani tes medis.

Gabriel Jesus has revealed he will support fellow Brazilian Fred despite the £52m signing representing bitter rivals Manchester United.

The midfielder will become Jose Mourinho's first summer signing after passing a medical yesterday.

His arrival from Shakhtar Donetsk could be the first of a handfull of reinforcements United make this summer.

Manchester City finished 19 points clear of United at the top of the Premier League last season.

Mourinho has been told the gap is unacceptable and there are funds in place to ensure next season is not a replica.

Jesus was just one of Pep Guardiola's deadly attack which featured Sadio Mane, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.

And City fans might be surprised to hear that he wants his compatriot Fred to take the English top-flight by storm.

"I talked to Fred in the middle of the season, when there was speculation he could go to Manchester City," Jesus said.

"But about United, I don't know. The decision is his, it's private, he decides what he wants to do with his career.

"We'll support him wherever he goes. If he goes to United, I can't cheer for the team, but I will always support him."

Fred registered 15 goals and 15 assists in 155 appearances for the Shakhtar Donetsk before his switch to the Premier League.

He returned from a doping ban last year after testing positive for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide at the 2015 Copa America.

The 25-year-old could soon be followed through the door by Porto right-back Diogo Dalot who is also set for an imminent medical.
